Robert
F. Cunningham is a professor in the Mathematics & Statistics Department at
The College of New Jersey, where he teachers mathematics content and methods
courses. He holds an Ed.D. from Temple University in Secondary Mathematics Education, a
M.A. from Villanova University in Mathematics, and a B.A. from LaSalle
University in Mathematics. His research interests include the teaching and
learning of elementary and secondary mathematics.
Sarah Clooney
earned a B.A. in Mathematics with a concentration in Secondary Education from
The College of New Jersey. She co-authored this paper as an undergraduate. She
will start her teaching career at Dwight Eisenhower Middle School in Wyckoff,
New Jersey. Her research interests include the teaching and learning of
mathematics.
