Paula Maida is an Associate Professor in the Department of Mathematics at Western Connecticut State University. She received her Ph.D. in Mathematics Education from American University. Her research interests include the mathematical preparation of prospective teachers, appropriate use of manipulatives, implementation of NCTM standards, early algebraic thinking and incorporating mathematics into children’s literature.
