Hamide Dogan-Dunlap is an Assistant
Professor in mathematics at University
of Texas at El Paso
(UTEP). She received a B.S. from Middle East
Technical University
in Turkey (Turkiye), and
both M.A. and Ph.D. in mathematics from University of Oklahoma.
Her primary research interest is on undergraduate mathematics education with
particular attention to abstract thinking in higher mathematics such as linear
algebra and analysis. She has done work on linear algebra teaching and
learning, the mathematics education of pre-service teachers, and instructional
technologies. She has been advising graduate students in Master of Arts in
Teaching (MAT) program in mathematics.
Jeffrey Dunlap received a B.S. from University of Central Oklahoma.
He works in law enforcement.
Elena Izquierdo, Associate
Professor at University of Texas at El Paso, is a
linguist by training, Ph.D. in Linguistics and Bilingual Education from Georgetown University, and an educator in practice.
She was an administrator for 13 years
in the Public Schools of Washington, D.C. Her research and
professional specializations focus on second language acquisition
theory/practice; biliteracy development; issues in the education of English
language learners; and school reform. She is the co-director
of Transforming Rural Instructional Opportunities (Project TRIO) project.
Olga Kosheleva, Assistant
Professor, University of Texas at El
Paso, is a mathematics educator. She received her
Ph.D. in Computer Engineering from the University
of Texas at El Paso. Her research and professional
specializations focus on Mathematics Education in Teacher Preparation,
Embedding Technology in Learning, Cognitive Growth in Elementary and Advanced
Mathematical Thinking, Multicultural Education. She conducts workshops for
preservice and in-service teachers and administrators on how to successfully
use innovative technology in school mathematics.
